Welcome from the University of Michigan Center for Disability Health and Wellness!

Our mission is to develop and apply innovative research, clinical, and educational strategies to address inequities in healthcare access, quality, and outcomes experienced by individuals with physical, sensory and developmental disabilities across the lifespan. Our vision is of working in partnership with members of the disability community to ensure that all people, regardless of type or severity of disability, have full access to quality health care and to wellness activities personalized to their background, strengths and needs.

Join us for monthly grant/research meeting on Thursday, May 5th at 1pm. 

 

Center for Disability Health and Wellness Open Discussion Hour - NEW
The CDHW would like to invite you to join us the 2nd Thursday of each month from 10-11am for our NEW Open Discussion Hour.  

This opportunity is great for student groups who wish to collaborate or share ongoing projects with the CDHW, medical students looking for insight into current CDHW projects, current members who would like to share ideas and anyone else who would like to share about existing projects they would like to collaborate on.

Coming soon: Our third webinar of 2022—Exploring the Intersections of Person and Place: Healthy Aging for Adults with Long-Term Physical Disabilities—will take place on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm Eastern time. 

This webinar will be a panel discussion with Michelle Meade, PhD, Philippa Clarke, PhD, and Robyn Rontal, JD, MHSA from the University of Michigan, and James Krause, PhD, from the Medical University of South Carolina. Margaret Campbell, PhD, from Campbell & Associates Consultants (Seattle) will be the moderator.
