Our mission is to develop and apply innovative research, clinical, and educational strategies to address inequities in health care access, quality, and outcomes experienced by individuals with physical, sensory, and developmental disabilities across the lifespan.
Our vision is of working in partnership with members of the disability community to ensure that all people, regardless of type or severity of disability, have full access to quality health care and to wellness activities personalized to their background, strengths, and needs.

The Center for Disability Health and Wellness at the University of Michigan developed the U-M CDHW Research Symposium to showcase the talented individuals conducting research on disability-related issues from across U-M schools and departments. Equally important, we hope to facilitate networking and discussion on how the research either is being used or can be used to facilitate solutions related to health, functioning, participation, and quality of life for those living with disabilities.

Bi-Monthly Meeting
Our bi-monthly meetings are open to anyone with an interest in disability research. Join our CDHW November meeting on Thursday, November 21st from 12:00pm - 1:00pm ET. We will discuss and brainstorm ideas for the Provost’s Office’s new Disability Scholarship Initiative. If you are interested in applying to be a speaker fill out this form and we will be in touch.
Open Office Hours
Join us Thursday, October 3rd from 10:00-11:00 ET for our Open Office Hours.
This meeting is an opportunity to ask questions, brainstorm about disability, receive technical assistance with your work, and get answers from experts in disability health research.

This mailing list is open to U-M and non U-M community members.
