Biography

Joanna recently rejoined the staff of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, assisting with administration and dissemination for the IDEAL Rehabilitation Research Training Center (RRTC), recruitment and other tasks for grants from the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation, and editorial assistance on manuscripts and other publications.

Joanna worked on the TIKTOC RERC grant from 2015 to 2017. Previously, she was a doctoral student in the University of Florida’s Department of Counselor Education, specializing in multicultural counseling for couples and families. She has also worked as a clinical trial coordinator, a school-based mental health counselor, a home-based maternal and infant care counselor, an educational and pediatric audiologist, and a teacher of English as a foreign language/intercultural trainer in China and France, as well as several positions in higher education. She has extensive experience as a writer, proofreader, and copy editor, and completed the Specialized Certificate in Copyediting from the University of California San Diego, thanks to staff development funding from U-M’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
