Participants will hear from panelists about the Disability Accommodations Tab within MiChart and how to use it to optimize care for our patients. Legal requirements will be discussed, and practical information and resources will be presented. This panel is geared towards healthcare providers and trainees.
Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) and ASL interpreting will be provided.

Matthew Galvan, JD is the Michigan Medicine Patient Civil Rights Coordinator. In his role, Matt coordinates compliance with federal civil rights laws and oversees the implementation of the patient civil rights grievance procedure. He holds a BA in History from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Wayne State University Law School. Before joining Michigan Medicine, Matt conducted civil rights investigations for the State of Michigan in employment, education, law enforcement, public service, and public accommodations.
