Description

The goal of the RRTC on Family Support at the University of Illinois is to bridge aging and disability research, practice, and policies to generate new knowledge in family supports which contributes to improvements in community living, participation, health and function, and other outcomes for individuals with disabilities from different racial and ethnic backgrounds who are supported by family members. 

Services Provided

The Center conducts six research projects: Development of a Strategic Plan for Family Support; Identifying Promising Practices in Family Support Services; Family Member Roles and Well-Being in Self-Directed Waiver Programs; Understanding Experiences, Trends, and Needs in Self-Directed Support Programs; Family Support in Managed Care; and lastly Parents Taking Action: A Parent Training Program for Latino Families of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
