Disabilities is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal on the physical, biopsychosocial, and environmental aspects of disability, published quarterly online by MDPI.

For their special issue on Aging with Disability, the journal is interested in receiving manuscripts that will explore the problems faced by older adults with disabilities—both those aging into disabilities and those aging with disabilities. Priority will be given to articles that reflect the voices and concerns of traditionally marginalized populations, as well as those that identify environmental factors (including assistive technology, built environment, policies, and the attitudinal environment) that impact functioning and participation.

CDHW Co-Director Michelle Meade, PhD, and Shan Parker, PhD, will serve as guest editors. Dr. Meade is a Professor and a practicing Rehabilitation Psychologist in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Michigan Medical School. She serves as Co-Director for the CDHW and is the Director of the IDEAL RRTC - Investigating Disability factors and promoting Environmental Access for healthy Living Rehabilitation Research and Training Center and the Michigan Spinal Cord Injury Model System. Dr. Parker is an Associate Professor of Health Education and the Director of the Master of Public Health Program at UM-Flint. She focuses on racial and ethnic populations and health disparities research using community-based participatory research principles.

The deadline to submit manuscripts is January 31, 2023. For more information, please visit the disabilities website.
