Organization background/mission
LGBT Detroit is North America’s largest Black-founded and -led LGBT+ nonprofit, where their mission is to activate, amplify, and sustain LGBT+ culture, education, advocacy, and human rights.
Community Grants Proposed Project
LGBT Detroit’s project has two main components. One is based in qualitative research and the other is mostly focused on social media.
- In the first part of the project, they will conduct a digital survey. They will then expand on their findings with a focus group composed primarily of LGBT+ individuals with disabilities.
- They will then develop a social media campaign to shift the perspective of LGBTQ+ people living with disabilities.
