Dr. Ehrlich’s epidemiological and health services research is focused on understanding the impact of vision loss on functioning, quality of life, and health outcomes. His research group has a particular interest in aging and vision, and his research aims to characterize and improve the health and disability trajectories of older adults with vision and multisensory impairments in the United States and globally. He works with large population-based surveys to develop and implement measures of sensory health and function that are critical to studying the role of sensory function on health and aging. Dr. Ehrlich also conducts research on low vision rehabilitation, working to promote equitable and personalized rehabilitation care through person-centered outcomes research and measurement development. He also co-directs the Jerome Jacobson International Program at the Kellogg Eye Center, where his global health work is focused on research collaborations, capacity building, and strengthening eye care delivery systems.
